Baby Grad Program
We’re giving Oregon babies a head start!
It’s never too early to start saving for a child. That’s why the Oregon College Savings Plan is proud to give every Oregon baby an additional $25 when a new Oregon College Savings Plan account is opened for them. Truly any saving is a good idea. A study done by the Center for Social Development showed children with even a small college savings account were 2.5 times more likely to enroll in and graduate from college than children without one.
How it works
Any account opened during the 2018 calendar year on behalf of an Oregon baby under one year old will automatically receive a $25 contribution from the Oregon College Savings Plan.
Who is eligible?
Any adult who opens an Oregon College Savings Plan account on behalf of an Oregon baby is eligible for the $25 contribution. An Oregon baby is defined as any person living in Oregon who was born in the 12 months prior to the account being opened. There is a limit of one match per baby.
Any qualifying accounts will receive the $25 contribution within three months of the account being opened. Note, you will need the baby's Social Security number to open an account — no need for his or her birth certificate.
