Asking For & Giving Gift Contributions

Whenever there’s a holiday, birthday, other special occasion, give a gift that grows with them, an opportunity that lasts a lifetime.

Instead of the usual gift items, contribute to your child, grandchild, niece, nephew or friend’s kid’s account. With the Oregon College Savings Plan, giving that gift is simple and straightforward.

How to Ask for Gifts

With the eGift option, you get an easy, secure way to ask friends and family for gift contributions. The service is included when you open your account and is free of charge.

  1. Once you’ve opened or registered for your Oregon College Savings Plan account online, select the eGift icon from the account summary screen.
  2. Choose the investment portfolio you want your gift contributions to be credited towards.
  3. Create a new invitation by adding an occasion, such as a birthday or holiday. This should include the occasion’s name, date, and the message you want within the invitation. Optionally, you may also type an additional message in the body of the email.
  4. Add contacts, including a name and salutation, whether you want to create an email or letter for that contact, and if selecting email, enter the contacts email addresses.
  5. Select the contacts you want to send the invitations to.
  6. Send the invitations!

Additional Information

Account owners will receive confirmation for contributions made via gift certificate, eGift, check or one-time online contribution.
